Amy Romano, MBA, MSN, CNM, is a midwife and experienced health care strategist focused on clinical innovation, patient engagement and community-integrated care. She is currently Senior Vice President of Clinical Programs at Baby + Company, a growing network of freestanding birth centers and midwife-led collaborative maternity practices. From 2010-2013, she directed Childbirth Connection’s Transforming Maternity Care Partnership, a national multi-stakeholder initiative to improve maternity care quality and value in the United States, and consulted on the first national maternity care shared decision making initiative, pregnantMe. Ms. Romano has experience designing quality improvement programs, consumer awareness campaigns, patient engagement tools, and clinical data systems for maternal and newborn care. She is also an award winning author and blogger.

Ms. Romano received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, completed her nurse-midwifery training at the Yale School of Nursing, and earned an MBA in Healthcare Leadership at the Yale School of Management.
