Washington, DC- The Institute for Medicaid Innovation (IMI), the non-profit, nonpartisan Medicaid research and policy group, is pleased to announce the growth of its D.C-based team. Chloe Bakst, the Institute’s newest health policy and research assistant, originally joined IMI as a summer intern. After completing her ten-week program she joined the team full-time. Bakst brings a passion for women’s health, gender studies, and health equity to the Institute.

Bakst plans to build on the work she began over the summer months. In her new position, she will focus on maternal health and maternal models of care, working in conjunction with IMI’s senior women’s health fellow, Dr. Karen George. Additionally, Bakst will work with many of IMI’s committees and subcommittees to assist in upcoming projects and committee organization.

Bakst is an alumna of the University of Michigan, graduating from the school in 2019 with a BA in public health with a focus on community and global health.
